For Herewith's marketing launch, we wanted to create a cohesive illustration style. The expressive, hand-drawn illustrations were a core element of its brand and helped ensure that we struck the right tone throughout the customer experience. During my time at Herewith, I was the keeper of all things illustration. I art directed new pieces for marketing use, developed and maintained guidelines, reviewed usage, and frequently created illustrations myself.
For our illustration system, we used our brand's blue paired with a yellow highlight. We applied a light watercolor brush to make the illustrations calming while remaining dynamic for our users.
We developed 3 tiers of illustrations. The top 6 are examples of hero illustrations. They would be used in sections on our website as well has OOH placements and event signage.
The mid-tier illustrations are used in brochures and social carousel posts to discuss latest tips for caring for your loved ones at home. The third-tier icons are used in email and throughout our app. They are simple and can be seen easily at a small scale for mobile.
